About

Manna initiative started in 2021 with Ciella Ininahazwe and Benit Cadeau Ngerageze. Two years later, it expanded to 30 donors and 4 beneficiaries. We continue to grow.

What we do

We identify college students who are eager to further their education but are limited by their financial situation. We then provide them with financial assistance according to their needs and the funds that are available.

We recruit students based on our estimation of the amount of funds we expect to receive in the upcoming academic year. This is because we aim to fully meet the needs of our students.

Where we get our funds from

We accept funds from everyone who is willing to support us. Although donors can decide to give their contribution as they please, we recommend that they sign a contract with us before the beginning of each academic year. In the contract, they specify the amount of money they are going to contribute. This helps us to know the amount of funds to expect within the upcoming academic year.

Beyond financial support

We know that financial support is not the only thing our students need.

We created a WhatsApp group chat for our students and donors who volunteered to be mentors. We hope that conversations between members of the group will help them learn about each other’s projects and how to implement them.

We also participate as much as we can in helping our students find internships and any other opportunities that can help them with their career plans.
